A Dhanteras and Diwali Buying Guide

An adjustable bed can be a thoughtful Diwali gift for parents who have back pain, reflux, trouble getting up or swollen feet, but only if it suits their needs and room. Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026 and Dhanteras on Friday 6 November. Because Zero-G beds are made to order, place the order early, talk to your parents first, check the room and the mattress, and consider converting their existing bed instead of replacing it.

Every year families look for a gift that says more than sweets and decorations. For parents who are older or have aches and pains, an adjustable bed can be one of the most useful things you can give, because it helps with sleep every single night. It is also a big-ticket purchase and a personal one, so it deserves some thought. Here is how to decide, and how to time it for the festival.

Why Timing Matters for a Made-to-Order Bed

Zero-G beds are customised, so they are not picked off a shelf the same day. If you want the bed in place for Diwali, enquire as early as possible, confirm the delivery and installation date in writing and keep a backup plan. A thoughtful alternative is to present a gift card or a note announcing the bed, with installation soon after the festival, so nothing is rushed.

Involve Your Parents in the Decision

A bed is personal. Some parents love a surprise, while others prefer to choose. A gentle conversation about how they sleep, what hurts and what they would like to change will tell you more than guessing. If a surprise is important to you, ask a sibling or the other parent to share the details quietly.

Convert Their Bed or Replace It?

Many parents are attached to their own bed and bedroom. Zero-G can convert certain existing beds into adjustable ones, which keeps the room looking exactly as it does now. Our guide on converting a standard bed into an adjustable bed explains how this works.

Checklist Before You Order

  1. Talk to your parents about their sleep, comfort and what they would like.

  2. Measure the bed and the room, including the mattress size and the socket position.

  3. Decide between converting and a complete bed.

  4. Check the mattress, since it needs to bend with the bed.

  5. Ask about price, warranty and installation in writing. Zero-G’s electric adjustable beds start at Rs 59,999 with a 15-year warranty.

  6. Plan the installation day so someone is home and a demonstration of the remote is included.

    IMPORTANT NOTE

If a parent has a medical condition, ask their doctor or physiotherapist about the right angles before you gift a bed. An adjustable bed supports comfort and does not replace medical care.

    If You Live Abroad

What to Say When You Ask Your Parents

You do not need to mention a gift. Ask how they have been sleeping, whether their back or legs bother them in the morning and what they find hard about getting in and out of bed. Their answers will show whether an adjustable bed would help, and what features matter to them.

Gifts to Pair With the Bed

Many children celebrate Diwali far from their parents. Our NRI checklist for buying an electric bed for parents covers measuring, delivery, installation and service when you cannot be there.
